So today the replacement de-humidifer arrived. Good on Ecoair, they tried repairing the original one but when it started playing up again 5 weeks after repair they sent me out a brand new one. Well what a month January was! The start of a brand new year and for me what i can only describe as one of the most heated and passionate discussions there has ever been on the MLR!
I refer to the Red TME Mystery Finally Solved thread started by the Evo guru in Japan, Mr.Ralliart! It certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons that's for sure! Enjoy! Well the last couple of months i've been able to add a few more cars to the UK and world maps, i've also added more photos to the gallery. Sadly we lost a red TME to an accident in Leicestershire; on its way back from the dealers having just had two new rear arms fitted under warranty! Thats now in the "Not So Lucky" section on the Tommi Mak Page.
Talking of going back, "Manx Man" has sadly been removed from the UK map having returned his red Mak to the supplying dealer; his mate did some digging around online and found out it was in fact a Grade R at auction back in Japan! Its sad that some dealers act in this way, but money after all is the "route of all evil" (see what i did there?!) - buyer beware! If you need any help in finding out a cars history i may be able to help. I could have certainly advised MM not to buy that particular car as i'd previously watched it go through auction. Use the contact form to get in touch. Well i've just completed the latest tutorial - front bumper removal. There was already one from ten years ago, but i thought i would do one in a little more in depth. The old one is still there for reference too.
Well this time last week i was out at the Nurburgring for a closed trackday. Read more about it HERE on the MLR.
I've just completed and uploaded the first tutorial done from working on the TME. This time its front and rear door card removal, and also removal of the outer window seals / weather strips. Tricky little blighter's they are! Anyway, read about it HERE.
The Jap Show @ Santa Pod - always a brilliant day out for fans of Japanese cars, i can never tire of walking around soaking up all the JDM goodness... See my photographs HERE
So the cavity waxing has been at the forefront of my mind ever since picking the car up. Not that the car is going to be open to the elements that rot the chassis on Evo's; namely salt water, but even so, water will be entering the sections if i get caught in the rain, so they needed to be treated. Read more on THIS PAGE over on the MLR.
So i've been doing some reading up on how to look after your car and stop rust occurring. Best bet is to keep humidity at 55%. Post about it here.
Well what a weekend - read about it on the MLR HERE. It was a killer but its been great to be back in an Evo!
I have also updated The New Chapter Page with info about the Tommi Makinen - i have more updates which will appear over the next few weeks. |
The blog...
This is a blog mainly about Evo's and my life around them, although i may also write about half interesting other things aswell. At the bottom of the page theres a "previous" button that will take you back even further, or click on the Archives below.... AuthorI've owned Evo's since 2001. I was heavily onto the scene at one time, though not so much these days as family life takes priority, though as you can see, i still like to keep my hand in... Archives
